Perl is key to the largest text database on the planet

According to this article here, perl is key to running the WayBack machine, which is arguably the largest text database on the planet (100 terabytes).

Next time someone bitches to you about how terrible perl is for large projects, stick this in their face! Oh, I definately plan to :) Also, for those of you who haven't already read through it, you can view some of the history of this great site here. My apologies to anyone who has been immortalized in a less than flattering way on those pages ;-)	[reply]
