I recently started a PT job at SEARS to make some extra $$$ and was amazed with how much training that we had to go through. Like 20 hours of "Train Washing" and 10 hours of register training.
The register training took place on a Windows 2000 machine, nothing special. When it started up a perl script kicked off the training log in. After logged in most of the training is done in shockwave with a register emu comprised of perl. Don't know if the real deal is done in perl but I wouldn't at all be surprised. I haven't been around long enough to play and find out yet.
