The store is made up of seperate systems actually. You can modify the site editor through it's built in language but adding gift registries etc (read interactive stuff) are more difficult. We graft that type of stuff (Inventory,Shipping & Tax, discounts) with our own servers. Though they now have a transaction based fee which is bad if you client is a huge company. Plus they take 3.5 for any thing through the Y! network. If you do over 10 million a year, this can be quite signifigant. For most companies it work$ out well though.
