I've noticed that sometimes I am listed as "lurking around the monastery" and other times I am not. It happens on main pages as well as replies - I have not found any rhyme or reason to it yet. Anyone else noticing this?

I've noticed the same thing -- as far as I can tell, "lurking" is synonymous with "active lurking". That is, it seems like there is a time threshold measured from when you last loaded/reloaded a page -- if you keep the same page open without ever reloading, you eventually disappear from the box. Of course, I could be totally off-base...vroom?

Two minutes is a time frame i seem to remember from somewhere i.e. if you've loaded a page in the last two minutes you show up.

update: then again I could be completely wrong. having read misty's post below, I think she's right.

      Nuance

Baldrick, you wouldn't see a subtle plan if it painted itself purple and danced naked on top of a harpsichord, singing "Subtle plans are here again!"

Once I asked vroom this question in chatterbox - he's reply was that "Other Users" gets updated every 3 minutes (if I recall it correctly) and shows you as logged in if you have requested a page within that time.
