Since you're getting "Bad command or file name", I assume
you're on Windows. If you are using
ActivePerl then
you do not need to compile DBI yourself. You can download
and install a precompiled package.
Download the following two files (since you dont have
Internet access on that PC, you may need to transfer the
files using floppies or whatever)
http://www.activestate.com/PPMPackages/5.6/DBI.ppd
and
http://www.activestate.com/PPMPackages/5.6/MSWin32-x86-multi-thread/DBI.tar.gz
Open the DBI.ppd file and edit the CODEBASE tag to point to
the DBI.tar.gz file; e.g.,
<CODEBASE HREF="c:/temp/pkg/x86/DBI.tar.gz" />
Then, type : ppm install DBI.ppd
--perlplexer
