Resizing, reformatting pictures

Whitchman has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I currently use the program Irfanview along with a macro program to automate thumbnail creation for my image galleries. This is kinda a pain because the way its set up I still have to interact with it to make it work. It's not exactly "automated". I was wondering if perl has anyway to resize jpegs and convert them into gifs.

Image::Magick or Imager may be what you're looking for. merlyn also has some WT columns about this topic, IMSMR.	[reply]
