in reply to DBI support for system/application upgrades

To find out if DBD::Oracle is known to work on your database and OS, check the docs. If you don't see an answer there, ask on the DBI list.

It is entirely possible, though unlikely, for Oracle to change OCI completely from one release to the next, thus totally breaking DBD::Oracle. Therefore, it's a good idea to run an Oracle version that is known to work, if possible. When you upgrade Oracle, you should QA your application to verify that it hasn't been broken by some new OCI madness.
