newrisedesigns has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello Good Monks,

Does anyone perchance know of a perl messageboard script that works well? I want to stay away from PHP and near-microsoftesque UBB-style coded boards.

The board will have to be customized so that it fits the needs of a special area of our website. The messageboard will accomodate various groups, each group with their own locked area. Our staff will also have their own area for comments for each group.

Something barebones (but threaded) would be nice. I'd rather not reinvent the wheel, but rather give it pinstripes and let users pop-wheelies.

Thanks again in advance for any comments!

PerlMonks is running on Perl, of course. If you like perlmonks, you can download the engine that it runs on or see other examples of the engine in action at: The everything development company.
