It seems that the site timestamp is off again. My local time was 21:04 just now, but when I checked my home node, it said 17:04. I went into User Settings to correct the mistake, but the drop-down menu showed the correct value of UTC-5 (Eastern Daylight Time) and 21:04.

This came up when I saw that rob_au was listed with a local time of 14:04 Sunday April 21; he is in Australia, and it's most likely late morning for him right now.

Can this be repaired? Thanks.

Actually, I think this one may be my fault. Recently I lost all of my user settings here on Perlmonks - my theme settings, bookmarked nodes in my personal nodelet, everything. This I think was to do with the on-going work of the gods on the Everything engine and to tell you the truth, it really didn't concern me much anyhow.

Anyhow, since this time I have had to reinstate all of my personal settings and guess which one I had overlooked ... the timezone. This has now been corrected and you'll find that the time setting on my home node is once again set correctly.

As with all things in computers, blame the user first ... then maybe the tools :-)

    Hi,
the localtime on my home node is off too... It says 15:42, while actually is 16:42. I think the problem comes from DST. Here in France DST is in effect now, so localtime is GMT+2 instead of GMT+1.

    Cheers
