waswas2 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Does anyone have any sources for info on pushing keystrokes to a win32 DirectX app from perl? i cant seem to find any info on this anywhere, i see Win32:API out there but have no idea if this is what i would need to use, does not look like it is.

I would like to push keystrokes to a DirectX game from a perl script that i have running in background, If anyone knows anything about this it would be a great help.

TIA

Win32::GuiTest can send keystrokes to apps on windows. It should do the trick.

No using Perl to cheat at video games though, the Artistic License specifically forbids that ;-).
