I know the feeling.

I have come to enjoy computers, coding, and my work so much that I sometimes have to remind myself that I'm getting paid for this. I love my job, I love my profession.

I love tinkering, and perl, MySQL, Linux, and computers give me the chance to express myself in a free, logical way.

You begin to develop more logical thinking processes when you code. I find myself going about other aspects of my life with a Perl-ish way of doing things, some good, some bad.

• Bad: my fiancee is not a perl interpreter.
• Bad: there is no automatic garbage routine in life.
• Good: I use a logical approach to things more easily.
• Good: I am more detached, in some good ways, because I'm always thinking of my job.
• Bad: I am more detached, in some bad ways, because I'm always thinking of my job (See 1st Bad)
