Hi

There are an exceptional number of good nodes posted on PM everyday. However, there are simply not enough hours in my day to read them all, and some I want to come back to later, and some I want to keep for a future problem. And some, I just want to ++ once I get my next daily batch of votes!

I've seen that people often bookmark interesting nodes on their home nodes. I was just wondering... would it be a good idea to add a 'personal boomkark' section for each user, and maybe have a button on the main threaded page where you can send the thread to your bookmark list automatically?

I know my browser has this feature, but I often work between two or three different machines, and I've now got a long list of bookmarks that aren't portable. I know I could (and maybe should) post these to my home node, but how about a personal bookmark page for each user, like your scratch pad - that gives you an option to share or make your bookmarks private?

I think this would be a valuable addition to PM, as it would mean a 'one-click bookmark system' for us lazy individuals :-)

    There is already the personal nodelet. If you have it turned on, a list of your bookmarked nodes is visible with every pageview. The node currently being viewed can be added with a single click. Some shortcomings of the personal nodelet are that it does not allow any kind of reordering or renaming (as far as I know).

    If that is a problem, you can use your scratchpad instead; a link to add a node to the scratchpad is also found in the personal nodelet. The advantage of the scratchpad is that you can edit it, and make it public if you desire. The disadvantage is that unlike the personal nodelet, it isn't included with every pageview. Still, one of the two should be capable of providing the functionality you desire.

    Update: ariels pointed out to me that I'm in serious need of more caffine this morning. I completly overlooked the 'personal nodelet' feature of PM!

    However, it would be great if we could make our bookmarks, or personal nodelet lists public so others can view what's on our bookmark list.

    Sorry for the confusion, and the lack of research :-\

        Thanks, ++jeffa! That's a neat script.

      You can, kind of. Add them to your scratch pad, and make your scratch pad public.
