While OT, I hope and expect this is of interest to quite a few here:

I just heard an interesting interview with Darren Wershler-Henry on the radio, about his new book Free as in Speech and Beer (ISBN ISBN 0130944297 but Barnes & Noble doesn't carry it yet). He also operates what appears to be an interesting intellectual property news site called http://freeasinspeechandbeer.com/.

There wasn't anything particularly new in what I heard, but it may be a useful reference for those just entering the debate, and it also looks at the whole IP scene, not just software or music. The book goes into the history of copyright (and other IP elements), how it has changed over the years, and the challenges it faces in the on-line age.

Update: Funny cjf should mention that, as Wershler-Henry is also involved (as an author and editor) with Coach House Books which has an interesting approach to publishing.
