Juerd has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Forget about Safe usage for now, as mod_perl and Safe.pm don't seem to like eachother anyway. Using reval() results in a segfaulting Apache. To reproduce it: 

use Safe;
Safe->new->reval('print 123;');

      Debian GNU/Linux with 2.4.18-gr-preempt, Apache 1.3.24-3, mod_perl 1.27, Perl 5.6.1, Ssafe 2.06.
      RedHat Linux with 2.2.20-ow, Apache 1.3.24, mod_perl 1.27, Perl 5.6.0, Safe 2.06

      Could this be the one thing in which Windows is better? :)
