Earlier today I boobed (does this idiom translate well across the Atlantic... perhaps too well).
I wanted to consider for deletion a negative and heavily downvoted node at the bottom of
this thread, but I was looking at the
node above, which was a well-reasoned part of the argument. So that one got considered for deletion too.
I immediately added a
note repenting my error. And anyway, one cd see at a cursory glance that the node didn't match my reason for considering it for deletion. Yet now I notice that three people (out of eight who voted) voted to delete it.
Perhaps they all voted it down because they saw my name as the imprimatur of correct attitude... but I doubt it. Perhaps they really *did* want to delete the node - but then it's too much co-incidence that their wish shd combine with my error.
I think it's more likely it was monks taking ill-judged shots. If so, I hope they feel slightly foolish (though not quite as foolish as I for my initial error).
Well, so, nobody died - in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter a great deal. But perhaps this will serve to remind sibling monks to discharge their responsibilities... responsibly.
