PerlJam has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
Hi all;
I am using Net::Ftp to upload files to a server. In my code I am checking for failures so the computer can redial, reconnect to the ftp server and start sending again. Now when a put fails, the file it was trying to send at the time of failure cannot be sent for about 8-10 minutes on Win 2k Pro (Haven't tried on other OS's as they don't apply). When I manually (ftp command prompt) try and send the file after the program fails to send it states: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." What I am wondering is if there is a way that I can free this file from within my code. For instance when the upload fails I then release the process from the file a go on about my business. Any help is greatly appreciated.
