irssi + perl

mr2 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi,
i just found out that perl scripts can be used in irssi (irc client under freebsd).

Can anybody tell me how to make them work? (just show me the way ;)) & where should i look for that type perl scripts? (url or smth)
