I noticed a few days ago that I still have more to learn about Perl.

Usually when I notice such a thing I get a little sad. But now I got happy!

I knew that I had more to learn but not that much! I get to have fun.

I am reminded of an old addage: The more you know, the more you realize you don't know.
Just my point... It is one thing to have wings and fly. But to fly well is another.

I really don't think you are learning PERL any more.
It is more like you are building a deck and at first you have you hachet to cut the wood. Then like a $_ with a foreach you get a power saw. You get while(<>) s to tie it together like a nail gun (not Quake style). Then you get all the other crazy variables and commands to make it look professional.
