    Actually, it is. It's compiled internally into bytecode and then executed. See modules like ByteLoader or B::Bytecode for examples of what can be done.

    There are some diagnostic modules available (and the names escape me right now) to dump the parse tree for you to see. It's pretty heady stuff, unless you're familiar with the Perl source code.

        I was probably thinking of B::Concise, but it's always risky to try to read my mind a few years later.
