This idea came to me just suddenly.
Every once in a while I force myself to enter the Newest Nodes area and clear the list.
I myself don't use the Newest Nodes section very often and thought of this:
Under User Settings, there could be an option where each user can decide how often the list should be automatically cleared.
For instance, I myself would have the list clear itself every 12 hours.
Because face it: if I don't check out the list for new nodes within 12 hours, chances are I'll never want to see them any later than that.
Users could decide between say, 6, 12, 18, 24 hours or 2-10 days.
Does anyone think this is a bad idea, a good idea, or neither here nor there?

Simply clear the last mark you've made, and you'll again have the option to view all nodes created in the past X time-periods.

I could swear I'd seen a selector offering to show nodes created within the last X days. It's not there for me right now, so I may just be hallucinating, again. ;-)

I would much rather have Newest Nodes show me the most recent postings (with a selectable time frame), than have it clear them out periodically. In other words, I think a "sliding window" of the latest nodes is better than "fill it up, then empty it out, then start filling it up again."

    IM(not so)HO... :-)
