Hate to sound like a crotchety oldster, but life is unfair. 'Downvoting' and 'upvoting' don't really mean anything -- what if I were to say I just took away 50,000 bleebleblorfs from you? Who cares!

The point is that people who are petty enough to exhibit such behavior are always going to find a way to be jerks, no matter what system is in place. So brush them aside like the insects they are, they'll go away.
