kal has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Monks,

I'm currently trying to embed a privacy policy into a web application that I'm writing, and there doesn't seem to be great support for it.

Has anyone else had experience of doing this? I am able to pass a custom policy to the header function of CGI, but there is nothing available to help me build a policy in terms of modules, etc. There is also little support within templating toolkits (that I can find, anyway ;) to switch policy based on the area of the site/application.

Any experience/anecdotes/useful tips much appreciated, thanks! I haven't managed to get anything working yet, but at this stage I'm presuming it's me/my understanding of P3P, rather than Perl :-)

All the info you ever wanted on P3P and more at W3C. I believe that they also give links to some policy generators, as well as tips for implementing privacy policies on your website.
