Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

can anyone give me an example of opening and then closing a tk window after the program has executed? I am trying to create a splash screen while my program runs.

    formally following one-liner for Win32 meets your requirements:
    perl -MTk -we "$mw=tkinit;$mw->update;sleep(5)"
    I expect you want to place image on a window, get rid of those system buttons at the top of window (this is also possible) and so on, but all this is really easy to do step-by-step.
