jettero has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Where's a good place to say:

Hey, I'll paypal $30 to the first person to make a resonably useable Crypt::GPGME module? I'm not feeling terribly selfish. I wish to d/l it from CPAN.

There used to be cool sites for this sort of thing, but today I can't find a single one.

If there's no such place, then I'm asking here. And I'm asking others to join me. ;)

Perhaps here. I would say that if you offer to donate those $30 to the monastery through the Offering Plate and explain a bit better what do you expect Crypt::GPGME to do, a few monks would be willing to help you out.

    Just my $0.02...

    Regards

I don't think I'd want to explain it... anymore than I explain anything else I d/l from CPAN. I just wanna -e 'install Crypt::GPGME', read the man page for a second and move on.

that was the whole point of paying someone... By the time I find out precisely what I want, I may as well just write it myself. It really probably isn't all that hard to write.

I betcha nearly anyone could crank it out one saturday, and I might, if I didn't have so much neverwinter nights to do ...

It seems that these people gave up trying to do it: http://gpg.sourceforge.net/

Mmm. It looks like they were trying to use Gpg, not Gpgme.

I'd be willing to help. I have no experience with using C libraries with Perl however.

Did you check if there is something like that in Sourceforge already?

I did not check source forge. I did check from it with 'i /gpg/' from the cpan shell.

I got ahold of the crypt::gpg author and was considering writing it myself. I do have experience writing c and c++ perl modules. I'd even count myself good at it.

it just suddenly occured to me today to wonder if I could just rent a coder... In fact, someone reccomended just that on K5.
