    This works a little better (both poetically and as a script) like so:
    if ($hungry eq "yes"){ my $food = "pizza\n"; chomp($food)};

    But that's just the critic in me . . .

    Actually, chomp(pizza) would only provide you with one little morsel of food. Perhaps....
    while($food) { chop($food); }
