There is nothing wrong in maintaining the code yourself. I do this for a number of modules (in fact, some of them not even mine) and this takes next to nothing of my time.

After you get the first few bugs ironed out (which ultimately, is in your best interest), this should not take more than a couple of hours a month.

Hope this helps to convince you to become a CPAN developer :)
