but if I don't work with references, and do something like:

$hash{red}{blue} = 1;
$hash{red}{green} = 1;
[download]

I get;

%hash = (
         red => (
                 blue => 1,
                 green => 1,
                ),
        );
[download]

I want that to happen with references too.
