Finding out which part of the perl script eats up RAM

vxp has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

anyone got any suggestions/tips/whatever on how to do this? my script takes up 3Mb of RAM and i'd really like to know eactly which part of the code is responsible for that.. i want to make it a bit more...efficient and a bit less RAM consuming.

The Devel::* modules, such as Devel::Leak or Devel::Profile, or nodes such as those found when searching for "profile memory" (Determining memory usage of a process..., or modules and memory usage, for example), might be helpful....	[reply]
