Just yesterday "/msg gods" got quite a bit more useful. There will probably be an announcement about this (and /msg'ing other groups) next week after we work out a few more details. In the mean time, feel free to use "/msg gods" to send in poll ideas if you have already searched for, found, and read the several previous threads on poll suggestions, and you really think you've got a great idea for a poll; not just the same "what do you listen to when you code", for example. (:

Actually, posting your idea as a reply to poll ideas quest and then "/msg gods" a pointer to it (if it is really good), would be good.

The problem, as I see it, with discussing polls is the topic thereby becomes uninteresting as a possible poll. It becomes familiar, instead of remaining novel, and many feel a need to chime in with a response to the discussion instead of waiting until the poll. Perhaps a nodetype where one can submit the subject of a poll (but no options, thus preserving any novel ones). One could not reply to any suggested poll nodes, but one could vote on them. The votes are of course meaningless, though they may serve as an indication to a stumped god what poll to pose next. `-- perl -pew "s/\b;([mnst])/'$1/g"`	[reply]
