This functionality already exists - Ensure that on your User Settings page that the "Personal Nodelet" is enabled. This option will enable an additional nodelet in your sidebar which will allow you to bookmark discussions and posts - All posts bookmarked will subsequently appear in this nodelet box.

I also find the add to scratchpad option very useful - the link shows up as HTML markup in your scratchpad and can then trivially be added to your homenode, which is where I keep things I want to have around.
My personal nodelet, in contrast, carries few links - the ones I miss in the navigation at the top:
Makeshifts last the longest.
