No offense, but it's pretty troubling to me that, by your own admission, you don't know Java but you're making recommendations about its use. This is exactly the attitude we blast PHBs about, since they recommend platforms, tools and languages based on what they read in trade rags.

Using the right tool for the right job is always a good strategy, but only if you know something about the tool you're using!
