If you really can't install the module, I suggest you download the code for it and examine it. What better source of info than a working implementation in Perl? Besides, we can't offer much more help without a more detailed question.	[reply]

If you prefer the hard way, here is the official RFC describing the MD5 Message-Digest Algorithm. But be careful, MD5 is a one way hash algorithm, you can't decrypt it! or we would have the best compression method of the world :) Good luck... Being unable to decrypt doesn't always stop you from using it for compression. See rsync for prior art.	[reply]
