Perl Meanies and Monks
by gryng (Hermit) on Jul 03, 2000 at 23:30 UTC
Not trying to incite anything here, I would just like to offer an opinion. There are several comments concerning this sites usage and it's name. "Perl Monks" seems to be an exceedingly deep with meaning name. I won't go into all the things I can come up with but I would like to mention a few. First, the obvious Monk denotation as a devote and well learned scholar. And secondly the fact that most Monks are traditionally also compared to an inner peace, as well as being at peace with their brothers (and sisters).

I'm saying all this to point out that the probable intention of this site was not only for learning (and more importantly understanding) perl, but also to form a community of scolars all cooperating with each other.

To me, this means that all of our members are invaluable, no matter what their respective contributions. Also if one of these has been hurt, in public -or- private, we should all do whatever we can to help the situation -and- the member out, however appropriately (public or private) that we can.

Well, I'm done spreading good intentions, hopefully I finished before you lost interest :) .

    Ciao, Gryn

Let's talk Perl, and keep the whining in private, IMNSHO.

< RHETORICAL > Then why'd you post three times to this thread? I mean, there were a total of only eight replies to it as of 6:22 EST 7-3-00. A third of this "noise" is coming from you.< /RHETORICAL >

The Autonomic Pilot; it's FunkyTown, babe.
