We've decided to remove the new links. Instead we'll add

• a "Personal links" page that shows all of the links you've added to your personal nodelet (in a less crowded way),
• an option (on that page, I say -- user settings is full enough already) to have your personal nodelet not list all of the links, and
• a link in the personal nodelet to this new page.

So you can put the "Add to" links wherever you want in the nodelet bar and still not have to have your huge list of personal links displayed on every page.
