My first little bit of poetry, rather short, but it compiles. Wrote a odd little backwards poem in math class a few days ago, and, after looking at it, it occurred to me to make a perl version of it. Refined it a bit when I got home, and here it is.
#!/usr/bin/perl MATH: { #in math push(my @needs,"creativity"); #need... creativity undef $timtowtdi; #for timtowtdi is not defined (undef @review[!-1] && next MATH) or my $sanity--;} #so end the endless review #and more on to something new #or my sanity is reduced a few!

I find the poem a sad comment on the state of teaching. TIMTOWTDI is even more true in math than Perl. But learn it by rote and the only solution that you can think of is the one you know to repeat. Plus if you get one memorized step wrong, then your motions become as meaningless as they already seem to be.

But ignore me. Comprehension is not on the test. Nor is creativity. Besides, most teachers don't understand the rituals they "teach". So understanding won't be in the course.

Carry on as you were. :-(
