Parsing comma seperated values for zaurus

jmaya has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello all, I need to parse the exported csv that Microsoft outlook generates from my notes. This is because zaurus does not provide a way to sync notes. Have any of you guys ever parsed a csv?

For very simple data, split will often suffice.
