Excellent poetry, however let me suggest that 'And a time for every purpose under heaven' could be:

foreach @{$heaven{purpose}} { $_ = time}

Unfortunately this will set every purpose (under %heaven) to the same time (unless perl is running very slow). However the Byrds don't necesarily say that they're different times. Just that there *is* a time for every purpose.
