in reply to Membership pledge drive II

I really do intend to contribute, but... when I got to the page about entering credit card info, I noticed that the form was not using SSL. I guess I'm paranoid, or maybe I've just been conditioned/brainwashed into thinking that entering credit card info over an unencrypted link is, well, unwise at best. Is there another method available? (Should I just stop being paranoid?)

update: Aha! this has been fixed -- thanks! Payment complete.

Should I just stop being paranoid?
    1. No. Paranoia your friend.
    2. No. Never send credit card numbers or any confidential information over an unencrypted channel. Period.
    3. No. It should be standard practice to encrypt credit card transactions. Don't encourage insecure practices.

So to sum up: No, No, No.

Please post an update once we can donate securely. Then I, and I'm sure many others, will gladly contribute :).
