I often go back and look at threads in which I've recently posted a node. Currently, I usually do this by clicking back to my home node, then on my write ups, then on a recent post, then on the "in thread" link. It's rather inconvenient.

I propose the addition of new "Recent Posts" nodelet. It would contain links to your own most recent N posts where N would be configurable. I imagine each line in the nodlet would be the node title preceded by "In thread" and "In reply to" links respectively abbreviated as "T" and "R". So, they would look something like this example:

T R - RE: RE: it is amazing sometimes how little you know...

Another suggestion which, I think, naturally follows from the one above is to add "In thread" and "In reply to" links to the results returned by the Perl Monks User Search.

As usual, I have no idea of the difficulty of implementing these suggestions. I would also be happy to hear of any alternative navigational strategies which would be better suited to this particular workflow (i.e. visiting threads to which I've recently posted.)

    I also use this method of navigation to get to threads I have posted to. Instead of another nodelet, as these are seemingly often cited in perlmonks speed issues - how about just having a link to the top of the thread from the writeup page in your home node?

    So in a similar method, going to your writeups page would allow you to select either your reply for editing, or the top of the thread for viewing. I think I would prefer it this way round (but then again I have a lot of nodelets on!)

    I have the similar (hopefully benign) obsession. Especially being new and only having one node before this one, I got in the habit of checking it frequently until activity died down. Still in the throes of learning the community here and how it works (and not being really clear on the chatterbox and how the /msg option works either) I should think it would be nice to have a nodelet like this available.

    What I have done now though is to create a bookmark in my browser for the nodes I am interested in and that has worked well for me so far. I usually put these bookmarks at the top of my list for easy access and then prune them as I lose interest in a node. (Not that I'd ever really lose interest in anyones' writeups mind you, but I have a limited attention span.)

    I'm not sure how well the nodelet would work when one has a lot of writeups active, but then I have the same problem when I have a lot of nodes that I want to review and I just have to be disciplined in pruning them. Perhaps this is one of those questions of balancing the handwork in pruning vs. the time of someone more expert than myself in creating such a nodelet?
