I'm a bit surprised you are getting this error.
"#!/usr/local/bin/perl5.8.0 -T" is only 29 characters,
which is less than 32. Also, generally systems that
can't deal with long she-bang lines ignore the rest, without
issueing an error message about what's in there.
Now, there is a Perl error
Too late for "-T" option. It's documented in
man perldiag, and the case it describes looks
remarkably like the case you do. Consult the manual page.
