If any of you are like me, you visit PerlMonks multiple times a day.

I am getting tired of seeing the same people in the upper right hand corner of the page. I mean, I am just sick of seeing CowboyNeal and his hat. Or Bob or vroom or Joe.

Can somebody please put new pictures up there. Those that are already there are getting old!

After being here a week or so, I toggled the option in my user settings that turns monk pictures off.

Have you made some cool new pics and sent them to vroom? If not, quit complaining, get off your duff and go do it. You can complain after they fail to get around to adding the new ones to the rotation. :-)

Like a lot of people, I turned off the monk pics and quips long ago, because they get old after a short while and I don't have the interest, time or talent to come up with alternatives. But if I heard there were some funny or interesting new ones, that might induce me to flip the setting back. It's not really a big deal either way.

      Okay, I will do it!

Seems like a reasonable question; why you hiding behind the anon?

You could make it a bene for Sainthood. But then again would you want to see some of the ugly mugs of our brother monks? ;-)

Well there *is* Merlyn in his tux... :)

There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling now.

Though I agree that always seeing the same few faces in the pics loses it's appeal after a while, I think the idea of having the pics up is nice (especially since the pics can be turned off!). Is it just site staff and/or editors? Certainly I think it would be nice if all the saints were up there.

Relatedly, could the pic link to the profile of the monk in question rather than to the picture page it currently goes to (or perhaps keep the picture page, but have the pics there link to the profiles)?

Are you serious you want my ugly mug up there?

      Makeshifts last the longest.

Sure, this way if we recognise a Saint in the real world then we can pester them with perl questions, follow them around, become stalkers, or groupies... I'll stop now ;)
