in reply to PM Statistics?

The Number of Monks by Level doesn't answer your question, but it can give you some idea as to the answers. Other interesting "statistics" nodes are: Cheers,
Ovid

Update: ZZamboni, I have no idea what the difference is. Saints in our Book also lists the number of writeups, but both lists appear to be sorted on XP (just a quick glance, I didn't check every line).

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

Saints in our Book is a listing of the most verbose monks, those with the most writeups. Perl Monk's Best Users appears to be a listing of the top monks in terms of XP.

      - Ozymandias

Update: I guess not. Saints in our Book - unless I'm succumbing to Alzheimers - used to be ordered by writeups, but it does not appear to be any longer. So I may be wrong. Whoops. <G>

I see. It's confusing because both lists are ordered by XP, and both contain almost the same users (which doesn't contradict what you said, since the set of users with most XP may be the set of users with most writeups). The only difference is that Perl Monk's Best Users contains superuser, who doesn't have any writeups and yet is a friar. Who is that guy? Is it a special account maintained by vroom or something like that?

My koan for today: What is the sound of one hand clapping the forehead?

I completely forgot about that! Ozymandias is right. Saints in our Book used to ordered by number of writeups. The intention was to acknowledge those who have contributed to building the site by making posts. I wonder why it was changed?

These nodes all concentrate on the merits of individual monks. I want to see something that covers PM as a whole.
These graphs are very enlightening. It would be even more enlightening to see:
      • The average time it takes for Monks to achieve a certain level.
      • The distribution of reputation amongst nodes.

Now that you mention votes, what is the purpose of voting, if all you can see is the reputation of your own writings, and not the reputation of someone else?

      -- Abigail

The reputation of other people's nodes is displayed as soon as you have voted on their node. This is to prevent bandwagon voting.
