I am not sure why this is so, but I believe that the following should have the signatures chosen in the User Settings already printed in the text box for submitting a node like it is in the Perl Monks Discussion section: I am saying this because I find it annoying when I have a certain signature set and I still have to retype it every time I want to post something outside of the Perl Monks Discussion section. This should not affect anyone for the worse, since if you want to post anonymously, you still have to log out.

Thanks.

    A somehow related issue is the automatic expansion of signatures that sometimes happens. I have my signature defined as the following:
    <p>--[ZZamboni]
    The problem is that whenever I post something (and where the signature is automatically included) it gets expanded to something like this:
    <p>--<a href="/index.pl?node=ZZamboni&lastnode_id=1072">ZZamboni</a>
    This doesn't affect anything, but I would prefer to see it as I typed it and have it expand only after it gets posted.

    --ZZamboni

    I still don't get that! Why would anyone want to post anonymously? I mean, we're all grown ups here. Is there really any point at hiding behind AM? Not saying that you do zdog, btw! don't get me wrong, I just noticed that this isn't the first time someone posts this.

    #!/home/bbq/bin/perl
    # Trust no1!
      You make a good point. I don't think people should hide behind because if you are embarrassed to post something, then you probably shouldn't post it. I don't ever post as AM, but I was trying to keep in mind those that do (not that I agree with their policies).
