If perl indicates that everything went well, I would next look at your sendmail logs. They should be in /var/log/mail or /var/log/messages.

you're faster than me. I just thought of that and dug out the mail logs. I am getting an error there a connection refused by localhost.(my dns) I think that means I have to go in and add that to my sendmail relaying list . . if that doesn't work I'm still lost.	[reply]
