peschkaj has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I am putting together a portfolio for my application to graduate school, and one of the requirements is that any plugins be made available on the CD. I am using Adobe's SVG plugin for graphics.

However, I'm stumped as to how to get the file down from the adobe download site to my PC without corrupting the macintosh file format. I've got ActiveState Perl 5.8.0 on Windows XP.

Will LWP-Request destroy the file formatting?

Goto Here (Offsite Adobe.com) and grab the SVG viewers for Mac and PC. Save them on your CD and off you go. You may also note that distributing the software is against their license, however they have a way out, look Here.

So, there should be no problems with the files corrupting in transit, regardless of the platform that I download on?

no, the only problem is that you wil loose the filetype for the clasic Mac, but the file has an extention and most Mac users should be able to deal with it.
