Take a look at Re: Comparing arrays and arien's reply at Re: Re: Comparing arrays. Examine what is said, not who speaks. The 7th Rule of perl club is -- pearl clubs are easily damaged. Use a diamond club instead.	[reply]

You are quite right. There are also the usual quibles to be made with regard to the definition of equality. (Refs, Strings, Numbers). I'll usually pass on worrying that stringification is overloaded to return pseudo-random strings. The "" or undef is a bad choice for a separator as it is always included in your data.	[reply]
