You could have a look at CPAN's Text::Balanced or Text::DelimMatch though.

Hmm, thanks for the ideas. Both seem to look for and return complete delimited strings. I was looking for one where I can specify start, end, and between-delims, and get back an object/array with the result nested if necessary.. (I could use them to extract parts, but then thats nearly the same as doing it by hand..) C.	[reply]
