Problems with Date::Manip in RedHat 8.0 Perl 5.8.0

c has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I just recently installed Date::Manip on a Redhat Linux 8.0 machine with Perl 5.8.0. I used -MCPAN to install the module. It works well enough, meaning that it does the expected math however I get a TON of errors popping out complaining about syntax in the module

Anyone else seen this type of behavior? or know of what the source of the problem is? Thanks -c

This is catching a lot of people using RH 8.0. It is probably caused by perl trying to honour a UTF directive in the `$LANG` environmental variable. See Malformed UTF-8 character. -- John.	[reply]
