nmsbull, there are a number of problems with how you asked your question, that I'd like to cover before I actualy answer the question itself. First off, what is VSS? It's not common enough that you can assume that everybody reading knows what it is -- I asusme you mean (Microsoft) Visual SourceSafe? Secondly, your title has nothing to do with the question. Titles should tell the (potential) reader what the post is about, so they know if they want to read it or not. Naming your post after yourself just causes confusion -- it isn't about you! Now, every time somebody clicks on a link with your name on it, they'll be confronted with a "multiple nodes were drunk" page, with both the user nmsbull, and the sopw nmsbull. (I've submitted a Consideration that the node title be changed; it will probably actualy happen within a few days.)

To actualy answer your question, you need to use Win32::OLE, which will allow you to create OLE objects and interact with them. Using that will get you access to VSS' OLE Automation methods, much like using a VB script to automate VSS.
