In his "State of the Onion" talk today at TPC, Larry Wall announced that work on Perl 6 will start immediately. More details can be found at www.perl.org/perl6/.

Oh frabjous day! For those wishing to keep a close eye on this (such as every Monk that *I* know), you can! According to the articles, there will be a "bootstrap" mailing list on which the developers will discuss what features to cut, add, improve, etc. The article that reptile provided states that "the bootstrap list will be open to the public".

If you are interested, you can subscribe by sending an e-mail to perl6-subscribe@perl.org. I assume that you would put the word subscribe in the subject and body, but exact instructions were not provided.

    Cheers,
    Ovid

Update: Yup, the subscribe method listed above works. I am now on the list :)
